Frances J. Bove (nee Cerbo), a life long Hoboken resident passed away peacefully at Hoboken University Medical Center on December 26, 2020.  Frances was a retired manager for more than 30 years at the Sheldon-Fredrics Advertising Firm in New York City.  Frances was involved with many Hoboken clubs and associations both civic and religious. Frances was the first woman president of the St. Ann PTA and a past president of the Sacred Heart Academy High School PTA. She was very involved with St. Mary Ladies Auxiliary where she raised money for Cancer Research and various charitable causes for the St. Mary Advocates and her volunteer work at the thrift shop; as well as working as a recreation volunteer for Care Pointe Hospital. Frances, for some 50 years volunteered her time and work for the St. Ann’s R.C. Church Annual Festival as well as fundraising for Wounded Warriors Benefits. She opened the Bove Boutique for several years, located on Washington Street in Hoboken.

She is survived by her only daughter Lisa Marchese and her husband Joseph, two loving grandchildren, Taylor and Joseph Marchese III.  She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews William, Annamarie, Michael and Laura McLaughlin. Frances was predeceased by her husband Louis “Sonny” Bove in 1978 and her loving sister Doris McLaughlin in 2016.

The Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, December 30 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken at 10 A.M.  Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday beginning at 3 P.M. and concluding at 8 P.M. All proper precautions must be followed due to the COVID 19 guidelines.
