Obituary

Eva Estrada of Hoboken, New Jersey formerly of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico entered the Kingdom of God on March 15, 2022.  She was a compassionate, kind woman who worked as a Social Worker at St. Mary’s Hospital, Hoboken, New Jersey for 30 years.  She came to New Jersey as a young teenager, not knowing how to speak English, and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University and a master’s degree from Fordham University.  She served as an Elder of her church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, Jersey City, New Jersey and retired as an 1199 hospital Union Delegate.

She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Evelyn Padin, Nicolas Padin and Lily Sepulveda; her sister, Carmen Sepulveda, nephew, Geovany Sepulveda, brother, Manual Estrada, loving granddaughter, Sophia Padin. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and loving companion, Carlos Benitez.

Visitation will be held at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home, 533 Willow Avenue, Hoboken, New Jersey on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm.  The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday morning at New Hope Presbyterian Church, “Iglesia Presbiteriana Nueva Esperanza”, 3593 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, New Jersey on Saturday at 11A.M. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey.
