Obituary

Arlette Angela Braxton, 66, a lifelong resident of Hoboken, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 29, 2022.  Arlette was the beloved wife of Ralph Chambers.  She was the devoted mother of Dio (Deana) Braxton, Ramona Braxton (Shahleek Bradley), and Robert (Nahomi Reyes) Braxton.  The greatest joy in her life were her cherished grandchildren Julian, Leyah, Elias, Jhosia, Jhaelani, Nate, Tasyana, and Ana Enyce, and great grandmother of Ava.  She was the endeared sister of Charmaine (Ibraham) Tarawally, Angela (late Howard) Hayes, Patrice (Alfredo) Irizarry, Bernard (late Sylvia) Braxton, Paula, the late Anthony (Tawana) Braxton, Madeline (Mattie Ferrell) Braxton, Cherie Braxton, Robert Montgomery, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Arlette was born on December 18, 1955 to the late Elizabeth and Robert Braxton.  She lived a life of service.  She was the Hoboken Housing Authority Commissioner for many years.  She enjoyed serving the senior citizens in the Hoboken Community.  Arlette was dedicated to her family and enjoyed bringing everyone together especially for Christmas!  Her home was always welcoming, filled with people, food, and love for all! She always made time for a loved one in need.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5th, beginning at 10 AM to 2 PM & 4 PM to 8 P.M at the Failla-McKnight Memorial Home. Parking available in rear of memorial home off Sixth Street.  Funeral Mass Friday, May 6th, 10 AM at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Hoboken.  Cremation Private
