Aida Rodriguez Lopez, 84, of Jersey City passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her family on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to parents Fernando and Esther (nee Serrano) Rodriguez. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Eugenio Lopez in 2014.  Aida was employed as a Teacher’s Assistant at Union City Day Care. She was a very religious woman who attended St. Joseph Church for most of her life.  Surviving are her two cherished daughters, Maria (David Rivera) Lopez and Aida Lopez, and one sister, Brunilda Rodriguez. A great joy in Aida’s life were her cherished grandchildren, Diana Velez, Hiram F. Denis, Carlos Bermudez, Eddie Dennis, Ivan Lozada and five endeared great-grandchildren.  She was an extraordinary and wonderful mother, grandmother, even her friend’s grandchildren called her Abuela. She will be sadly missed.

Aida will be privately interred on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
